AV Technician

SaaviHome is seeking a Audiovisual (AV) Technician to install and service both residential and commercial AV systems. Level headed, organized and self-motivated individuals who can think fast on their feet and enjoy technology will thrive in this role. Main job responsibilities involve pulling and terminating low voltage cable, installing speakers, TVs and window treatments with a focus on customer service.  **Paid Training Available**

This position will consist of the following responsibilities:

• Pre-wire homes under construction for future A/V and home automation projects.
• Pulling audio/video/phone & data wire throughout residential and commercial buildings.
• Install TVs, music systems, speakers (floor, wall mounted, and recessed), security systems, window treatments, and home networks.
• Data Networks Installation, Configuration, Servicing
• Knowledge of Apple and Windows Based platforms
• Installation of home theater and distributed whole home audio and video systems
• Familiarity with luxury and high end brands such as Yamaha, KEF, JVC, Sonos, Samsung, Sony amongst others.
• Install and program whole home automation systems including light, shade, and HVAC control systems, video distribution systems, distributed home audio, security camera systems.
• Have the ability to interact with designers, architects and other industry professionals

While performing on-site work, AV technicians must provide outstanding customer service and develop working relationships with their clients. AV Technician Skills and Qualifications

AV technicians are enthusiastic individuals who can follow instructions and work well with a team while installing video and audio systems. SaaviHome prefers a minimum of one year experience working with audiovisual equipment, however this is not required and we are willing to TRAIN the right person for long term success. We also look for candidates with the following abilities:

  • Computer skills – working with various computer technology is a necessity for audiovisual professionals
  • Troubleshooting – AV technicians troubleshoot all equipment issues in a timely manner. Successful technicians strive to exceed expectations
  • Physical fitness – it is common for technicians to lift 50 to 80 pounds individually, Furthermore, standing, walking, climbing ladders, and navigating tight spaces is a common requirement for AV technicians
  • Customer service – interfacing with customers and guests on-site to make sure their desires are met and that equipment is functioning is a major responsibility of our technicians
  • Organization skills – being organized is a requirement for AV technicians due to the tools, wiring, cables, and parts that they must methodically sort and install 

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Basic knowledge in audio/video equipment preferred as well as network set-up and administration
  • A thorough understanding of technology as well as an understanding of networks
  • Proficiency with computers – both PC’s and Mac’s and office suites
  • Basic construction knowledge
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Excellent communication skills in all forms and the ability to provide superior customer service
  • Conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ambitious, self-motivated, and the ability to learn quickly and work independently
  • The ability to perform at a high level and achieve established goals
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds independently

AV Technician Education and Training

SaaviHome requires technicians to have a high school diploma or GED. An associate’s degree in audiovisual technology or a related field, such as digital media, is preferred.  We value candidates with core values that align with our company and are willing to train those with a can-do attitude and a background in similar careers, such as electrical wiring, programming, and construction. Licensing certificates like the Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) designation are also attractive.

Hours and Wages

●      Monday to Thursday from 7am-6pm.

●      Commuting to job sites is a major part of the job and we require our technicians to have a clean driving record.

●      *Depending on the project, sometimes work on Fridays and weekends are needed on occasions

●      AV Technician start at $20/hr with opportunities for additional bonuses.  We are looking to transition this role to a long term salaried position within the company with lots of advancement opportunities.

Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Rep position will have a high level of impact on our organization as the first point of contact for a client’s journey to exceptional service. This role will manage client appointment scheduling and coordination of service calls in addition to helping to increase efficiency for the field team. 

The candidate selected for this role will thrive in a fast paced, fun environment with a focus on detail and quality, and will be passionate about customer service.  The ideal candidate will bring strong customer focus, organizational skills and ability to independently problem solve. 

This is a remote role. Ideally full time 8am-5pm, though open to flexible hours for the right candidate. 

This position will consist of the following responsibilities:

● Schedule tasks and service orders each day for our field technicians via phone and email

● Outreach to trade partners to help identify new project opportunities.

● Manage client calls and messages to ensure clients receive speedy and friendly contact, while documenting all phone calls accurately and completely in the company software system

● Be the direct point of contact between office and field team regarding the daily schedule

● Manage Technician Calendar according to policy and procedure.

● Responsible for closing the loop on customer requests and communicating any issues that impact service technicians.  Display a strong commitment to organizational success and follow up to ensure no client requests slips through the cracks

● Escalate non-routine issues to the Business Development Manager or President

● Relay all new sales inquiries to the sales team for prompt follow up.

● Provides a positive customer contact experience.

● Perform other duties as requested by the President or Business Development Manager.

Customer Service Rep Salary, Training and Hours

We hire people, not resumes. This is an entry level position and training will be provided for the right candidate.  A demonstrated understanding of home technology and the construction cycle is highly preferred.  High School Diploma or equivalent required.

●      Hours: Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm

●      Weekends, Holidays and 8 personal days off for first year

●      $20/hr to start, transitioning to a salaried position after 3-6 months

●      Additional bonuses available based on performance and alignment to company values
